Promoter Florian Gelev promises big spectacle at USTER

Promoter Florian Gelev, a guy full of energy is trying to bring professional boxing to Switzerland a new spirit of work and with a concept where he does not anticipate many people as he says “Many chefs spoil the juice” wants to bring only spectacles. He reveals that he works with a small, exclusive group, which includes guys from the company “Glory Bomb” Wally Blattner and Benji Jann, as well as the company “Arena Ring” with Avdyl Salihu. Four professional matches and 6 to 8 amateur confrontations are planned to take place this evening. The professional boxers in the ring will be Ramadan Hiseni, Denis Dauti, Alfred Kqira and Riko Giger who will face opponents from Spain, Ukraine, Georgia and North Macedonia.

ArenaRing: How are the preparations for your first event going?

Gelev: Switzerland is not an easy market. The Swiss public is demanding. Projects that are approached without motivation and passion do not receive much attention in Switzerland. Our boxing athletes deserve that we do everything possible to offer them a professional stage during their preparation. A boxer competes not just to win, but to wow the crowd.

ArenaRing: How many fights will be in the program (amateur and professional)?

Gelev: As of today, we have planned 4 professional fights and 6-8 amateur fights.

ArenaRing: Which fight will be the main one?

Gelev: Ramadan Hiseni, undefeated in 14 fights, enters the main fight. His opponent is the Spaniard George Vallejo. Another spectacular fight will be the bout between Dennis Dauti and Vladyslav Baranov from the Ukraine. Anyone who knows Dauti knows that he has a hard punching. Baranov, on the other hand, is known for his tough qualities.

ArenaRing: Who are the opponents and how much information do you have about them?

Gelev: Our main goal was to put together good and, above all, compedetive fights. The spectators will  not see any fallen fruit. In advance, we looked at and analyzed various options and opponents for our athletes to find the best ones. A big thank you goes to the matchmaker of the event, our business partner Avdyl Salihu for his support in the selection and organization as well.

ArenaRing: How much support do you have from Swiss sponsors and institutions?

Gelev: Here we work according to the motto “less is more”. We specifically approach sponsors and partners who we believe fit the concept of the event. A sponsor sees his contribution as an investment, not only in the athletes, but also in his company. The investment must pay off for the sponsor. More attention for his company, more customer inquiries, more sales,  a  better  reputation. For this we develop an individual marketing concept with each of our business  partners.

ArenaRing: Tell us more about tickets how can they be booked?

Gelev: We said goodbye to paper flyers and posters. Today, the social networks offer advertising opportunities with which we can address our target group, the boxing fan, directly and encourage them to buy a ticket. Gone are the days when boxers were handed a stack of tickets to sell them. Our sales process takes place exclusively online. Excellent customer service is available to the customer and he can choose the most convenient payment option for himself from a wide range   of options. It has to be easy for the customer. We don’t have time to waste on tedious and old- fashioned processes these days.

ArenaRing: Do you think the sport arena will be full?

Gelev: Switzerland recently suspended all corona measures. The prerequisites for a full arena would then be given.

ArenaRing: Apart from the sports program, have you planned anything else?

Gelev: With Faton Vukshinaj, Arnold Gjergjaj and the Swiss boxing legend Stefan Angehrn we have 3 special guests in the hall. There is also additional program and entertainment.

ArenaRing: Your collaborators ?

Gelev: Too many cooks spoil the broth. We work in a small, exclusive group. These include the guys from the company “Glory Bomb” Wally Blattner and Benji Jann, as well as the company Arena Ring from Avdil Salihi. Not forgetting our UK department led by Steven Lawrence who is also working  on great projects.

ArenaRing: You are a person full of motivation, what are your plans for the future?

Gelev: To be successful you must help others achieve their goals. Our athletes can rely on that.

ArenaRing: Who is Florian Gelev?

Gelev: Here I would like to quote the actor Will Smith:

“The only thing that I see that is distinctly different about me is I’m not afraid to die on a treadmill. I will not be out-worked, period. You might have more talent than me, you might be smarter than me, you might be sexier than me, you might be all of those things you got it on me in nine categories. But if we get on the treadmill together, there’s two things: You’re getting off first, or I’m going to die.

It’s really that simple, right?

You’re  not going to out-work me. It’s such a simple, basic concept. The guy who is willing to   hustle the most is going to be the guy that just gets that loose ball. The majority of people who aren’t getting the places they want or aren’t achieving the things that they want in this business is strictly based on hustle. It’s strictly based on being out-worked; it’s strictly based on missing   crucial opportunities. I say all the time if you stay ready, you ain’t gotta get ready.”
